The Barony Players were delighted to perform Graham Linehan’s stage adaption of the Ealing comedy classic, The Ladykillers.
The Ladykillers is a classic black comedy; a sweet little old lady, alone in her house, is pitted against a gang of criminal misfits who will stop at nothing. Posing as amateur musicians, Professor Marcus and his gang rent rooms in the lopsided house of sweet but strict Mrs Wilberforce. The villains plot to involve her, unwittingly, in Marcus’ brilliantly conceived heist job. The police are left stumped but Mrs Wilberforce becomes wise to their ruse and Marcus concludes that there is only one way to keep the old lady quiet. With only her parrot, General Gordon, to help her, Mrs Wilberforce is alone with five desperate men. But who will be forced to face the music?

“Awesome job tonight. Absolutely superb. Thank you! “
“What a superb evening’s entertainment ‘The Ladykillers’ provided on Thursday. I enjoyed every single hilarious moment of it. I won’t go on about it, but I think this is one of the funniest comedies I’ve ever watched. The cast was inspired, each character contributing to the utter madness of the plot, all at some point making me laugh out loud. The set was impressive – the scene outside the window was very clever and worked really well. The little ‘quirky’ bits of the play all combined to create a highly original and inspired production. I’m still having a quiet giggle to myself when I remember them. The folks behind scenes must have worked tirelessly to make the whole performance come together so seamlessly, from the squawks of General Gordon to the abundance flowers on Mrs. Wilberforce’s hat. Oh, I must add a word as well about the efficiency of the excellent parking arrangements! Well done everyone!
What’s next?”
