There have been lots of improvements happening over the summer months to improve the front of house for everyone.
The entrance, lounge and bar areas have all been freshly painted, and we have created a new ‘Box Office’, with new desk and lighting to ensure you know where to buy or pick up your tickets and have them validated too.
The lounge and bar areas have had new built-in seating, tables and chairs to maximise the seating available and to make it more comfortable for customers to relax and enjoy a pre-show and interval drink or two. In addition, we have installed new gallery lighting with the fabulous framed photos of shows gone by – a real trip down memory lane and what a wonderful archive of the work of the Players over the last 70+ years!
We have installed a new, larger bar upstairs to increase the speed of serving and new undercounter fridges which will ensure all drinks are chilled to perfection. And of course, we will be taking interval orders to ensure you can all enjoy your drinks with plenty of time for a chat without queuing.
The kitchen has had a complete overhaul with new units, worktop, oven and instantaneous hot water tap which is a great improvement for serving teas and coffees during shows and for ensuring any functions can be well catered for. We may even start a regular café slot for the community on a Saturday each month – watch this space!!
