The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter

January 19, 2022 By Sandra

28th and 29th January 2022 at 7:30pm

Hitmen, Ben and Gus have a job to do. But as they await instructions in a derelict building, they start to receive strange messages via a dumb waiter…The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter might be considered the best of Harold Pinter’s early plays.

“Small but perfectly formed”

It combines the classic characteristics of early Pinter – a paucity of information and an atmosphere of menace, working-class small-talk in a claustrophobic setting.

Tickets £12/£10 available online at the Box Office or on 07541 346639 .

Everyone – 20th – 25th January 2020

December 1, 2019 By Sandra

Mary, a mother of two, is doing the ironing one Saturday morning when she feels something on her shoulder. It’s the very beginning of a series of events that will change things for ever. For everyone.

A re-imagining of Everyman, one of the oldest dramas in English, Jo Clifford’s bold and haunting play tells a deeply emotional and warmly funny story of a voyage into the heart of living- and of what it means to lose the people we love.

It was first performed at the Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh, in 2010, and was revived in a new production by Chris Goode and Company at Battersea Arts Centre in 2016.

The Barony Players will be performing the amateur premiere of this thought provoking and challenging play.

The Guardian review:

“processes the trauma of death most profoundly”

“tender, private, vulnerable, self-deprecating humour and a rhetorical elegance”

“the play is both extraordinary and everyday”

The Scotsman review:

“a beautiful, strange and thought-provoking meditation on sudden death”
